Outgoing Calls Do Not Work

This has been a problem from day #1. Incoming calls work fine, but when making outgoing calls the other party cannot hear me. I’ve done a complete clearing out of everything and reinstalling and it has not corrected the problem. This is a very problematic issue as I cannot make calls myself when using Carsifi.

I also noticed that if I click the microphone on the head unit to talk (i.e. tell it to play a song), it does not work.

But if I talk into my phone it does work.

I’ve found out that additional bluetooth devices capable of calls interfere. For me, I’ve disabled calls on my smart watch and I disconnect Bluetooth headsets before connecting to Carsifi. Give this a try to see if it helps you too.

This is most likely because your phone is connected to both the carsifi and the bluetooth on the stereo - and whichever channel it’s chose for the mic/speakers isn’t the one your stereo is set to. Try disabling call audio on the car bluetooth connection, or removing the car bluetooth entirely if it’s not needed.

Sounds like a promising lead, I’ll give that a try. Thanks.

It didn’t work. I unpaired the Bluetooth on the phone multiple times, and deleted the bluetooth entry in the head unit.

Even after that, the head unit still connects to the phone via Bluetooth everytime.

I’m guessing calls go through Bluetooth no matter what so it must be something else.

There were no other bluetooth devices in the car.

Read elsewhere that with android auto wireless, calls still always go through bluetooth.

So the issue is something to do with the head unit / carsifi combination.
